Testimonials

“I am just beginning to explore memoir writing. Shannon has helped me better express and refine my stories by pushing me to dig deeper and say things I was afraid to say. I’ve been thrilled with the results.” — Nabil Ayers

“I hired Shannon to proofread and edit my 75-page Master’s thesis. I was at a point of having lived inside the document for so long, I no longer trusted myself to see what was really on the page. Shannon came through and edited my thesis beautifully—from smoothing out the phrasing of a sentence, to correcting the minutiae of MLA citations, and everything in between. She was professional, prompt, and reasonably priced. I’m grateful to have found her and recommend her without reservation.” — Molly S.

“Shannon is a fantastic editor and writer. She’s edited a huge number of my posts for me so that I can significantly speed up my workflow. She’s fast, exceptionally reliable, and has an unwavering eye for even the smallest detail. A misplaced comma wouldn’t get past her even on the worst of days. She’s also done some content marketing work for me, and the writing was clean, informative, and well-researched. I can’t recommend hiring her enough, but I also hope that she available to keep working with me!”Ana Gotter

“Shannon has been a valuable go-to editor who has provided me and my film production partners with thorough, thoughtful and insightful notes on proposals and application materials (giving welcomed advice on tone, structure and effectiveness of the project) as well as offering quick edits (for typos and grammar) on my professional journalism blog posts. Every writer needs a great editor, and Shannon has helped to improve the quality of my work on various levels – not to mention she’s just a lovely person with whom to work. If she were on Netflix, I’d definitely give her five stars!” Janice Littlejohn

I hired Shannon as a sensitivity reader for my 75k-word young adult novel, WHEN THE BEAT DROPS, which features a biracial protagonist. Shannon’s insights were spot-on. They not only helped clarify some aspects of my main character’s identity, but also strengthened the book as a whole. Additionally, her passion and enthusiasm for the book were exactly what I needed at a stage of the publishing process when I sort of wanted to throw the whole thing out the window. Shannon came highly recommended to me by other young adult writers, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend her services to others.” — Anna Hecker

“When it comes to editing, it’s imperative to employ someone who’s incredibly skilled and knowledgeable. To find an editor who’s kind on top of these superb qualities is a serious find. Shannon Luders-Manuel knows grammar! And she is able to analyze material so that it becomes a finely tuned work of art. Shannon understands a writer’s connection to her words and effectively communicates what needs to be removed and/or changed and why. I appreciated her calmness and thoroughness throughout the entire editing process.” — Natasha Billawala

“As a short story fiction writer, I have been lucky to meet Shannon. Her judgments as an editor are right on target and her suggestions and edits have been invaluable in helping me craft short stories worthy of publication. Plus she is a very nice person!” — Arno G.
